Born to a single mother in a family of five kids, Jones had a difficult and impoverished childhood. Jones' mother moved constantly and lived for a time in the church basement. The sporadic lifestyle forced Jones to change schools and attend an entirely new school each year until the time she entered high school. Jones was able to move away from her mother to Theodore Roosevelt to enable her to focus on her passion for track. Jones was a resident of four homes during her high school years in order to study at one location. Jones received her the Gatorade Iowa Track and Field Award for the Best Athlete at school and was also an active member of the school orchestra as a cello player. Jones was one of the most skilled hurdlers at the time she entered college. Jones was the winner of the 100-meter hurdles at the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship. In addition, she was a part of the team finishing second for 100-meters relay. Jones won the NCAA Indoor Hurdles contest in the years 2003 as well as the 2004. Jones had completed her college education in 2005, started to train hard for track. In 2005, she was first in the Torino Memorial race, in 2006, she won the Heusden and Ostrava athletes.
Brandt relocated from Cape Town South Africa to Auckland New Zealand at the at the end of her teenage years. Brandt was discovered in Auckland by casting directors. She was then offered the part of Naevia as a character in the Starz sensation Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. As a result of her collaboration alongside Steven S. D Knight's and Sam R. Raimi's producers, she became an instant actor. She starred in the hit Netflix series Lucifer that had a six year run. She played the most loved Vertigo/DC comic book character Mazikeen. Lucifer was a smash hit and broke binge records and was named the top series to binge in 2021 according to Forbes. Brandt can next be seen opposite Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in the 6 episode limited Walking Dead spin-off which airs in 2024. Her other Netflix productions include an animated adult show Captain Fall starring Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan, Jason Ritter, and Chris Meloni. This will air in July 2023. Lesley-Ann Brandt is an South African actress, born in Cape Town on 2nd December 1981. She is a talented New Zealander actor. Lesley Brandt and her family moved to Auckland, New Zealand in 1999. The first time she worked in Auckland as a store manager after which she was elevated to an IT management consultant. Following a couple of modeling projects, Lesley appeared in many commercials. She graduated with a major in acting in the year 2008. In 2009, she started training in Meisner Methods of Study. Lesley's first big role with New Zealand was as a TV actor in Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt has shown up in the New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street as a guest role as a supporting character. In a later sci-fi arrangement This Is Not My Life she portrayed the city of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt appeared as Naevia as a hostage who was a teenager in the Television show Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Her character was shown in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
